Alvin E.  Gruber, 82, of Waterloo, IL, died May 18, 2017, in Waterloo, IL. He was born February 7, 1935, in Imperial, MO.

    He is survived by his wife Carol R. Gruber (nee Armbrecht); children Tom (Lorna) Gruber, Mark (Denise) Gruber, & Sandy (Dan) Mueller; grandchildren Lyn Gruber, Jennifer (TJ) Hayworth, Michelle (Tim) Leach, Jessica Gruber, Dustin (fiance Haley Fallon) Weber, Ryan Gruber, & Paige Gruber; great grandchildren; brothers Don (Pat) Gruber, Marvin Gruber, Butch (Annette) Gruber, & Gene (Sherry) Gruber; sisters Pat Earhart & Karen (Kenny) Sitzes; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; & cousins.

    He is preceded in death by his parents Frank & Pauline (nee Berger) Gruber, sisters Violet Kertz & Delores Gruber, & brother Kenneth Gruber.

    Alvin was a retired bus driver for Gulf Transportation, former owner of Fountain Tavern, & a former maintenance worker at the American Legion in Columbia, IL.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to: 
Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund or Humane Society of Monroe County

    9 AM until time of service Monday Immanuel Lutheran Church
