Clyde S. Mathews, 75, of Waterloo, IL, died December 24, 2017, in St. Louis, MO. He was born April 8, 1942, in Waterloo, IL.

He is survived by his wife Shirley A. Mathews nee Wilson; children Lorrie (Kevin) Jacobs; step-children Tracey Lybarger, Michael (LeeAnn) Kastner, Barry (Jodi) Kastner, and Scott (Jill ) Noe; granddaughter Chelsea (Corey) Vasel; great-grandchildren Baylor Vasel and Tori Lybarger; numerous step grandchildren; brothers Orval (Nancy) Mathews, Dennis (Lynn) Mathews, and David Mathews; sister Janet Posey; special nephew Neal Mathews; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents Simon & Agnes (nee Schneider) Mathews; brothers John T. and Dale F. Mathews; brother-in-law Bill Posey

He is a member of SS Peter and Paul Church - Waterloo; retired from State of Illinois; owner of business in Waterloo; former Waterloo Policeman; and former alderman for the City of Waterloo.
