Carl John Matson Jr.

Carl John Matson Jr., 74, of Waterloo, IL, died May 22, 2021, in Waterloo, IL. He was born June 29, 1946, in Berwyn, IL.

He is survived by his wife Judith Matson (married June 20, 1970): sons Jeff (Marcia) Matson and Kurt (Jennifer) Matson; grandchildren Delaney Matson and Steven (Jordyn) Hernandez.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Carl John & Ethel C. (nee Holecek) Matson Sr.; sister Carol (John) Segvich; and grandson Justin Miles Matson.

He was the operations manager for Twin City Barge and Towing for 15 years, then he and his son Kurt owned and operated a printing company, KM Press in Belleville, IL. He retired in 2018.

Carl had a great sense of adventure and loved immersing himself into new things. He was a certified scuba diver and a PADI sanctioned scuba instructor. He loved boats, Corvettes, and motorcycles. Most of all, he loved his family.
