Carlyle Wilde

Carlyle  Wilde, 72, of Columbia, IL, died July 24, 2020, in St. Louis, MO. He was born November 14, 1947, in Red Bud, IL.


He is survived by his wife Sarah E. Wilde (nee Stoddard); children Heather Helfer and David (Abigail) Wilde; grandchildren Jolson and Austin Helfer; Isaac and Ada Wilde; sister Mary Ann Koch; brother-in-law John (Cathy Patrick) Stoddard; nieces; nephews; and cousins.


Carlyle is preceded in death by his parents Edward J. and Violet R. Wilde nee Luhr; and brother-in-law Arthur Koch.


He was a member of St. Paul UCC - Columbia, IL (served on consistory and other church activities); and he was a US Army Veteran.


As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to:

**If you wish to attend the service at church please note**

The service will be provided live through the church's ZOOM platform.

If you wish to attend the service you will need to register in advance (by Monday evening) by calling the church 

281-5102, extension 31.  Please leave a message that you are registering to attend the service on Tuesday, as this extension

is also the registration line for Sunday worship.

The only entrance that will be open is the front doors of the sanctuary (up the steps.) 

Please remain in your cars until 9:45 when you will be ushered into the narthex, either by family or individually.

When you enter the narthex an usher will sign the guestbook for you and provide hand sanitizer.

You will need to wear a mask throughout the service.  There will be no singing.

An usher will seat you, socially distanced from others.

At the end of the service you will be ushered out from the back to the front.

The only restroom available is in the narthex to the right of the entry door. 

It will be cleaned following each use.

We do not encourage social gathering either prior to or following the service.
