Dean A. Ramsey

Dean A. Ramsey, 84, of Waterloo, Illinois, passed on September 5, 2026, in Waterloo, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 9, 1942, in Columbia, Illinois, to Raymond and Bertha (nee Leiser) Ramsey.

Dean is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie (nee Sauget) Ramsey; his son, Ronald (Marsha) Ramsey; his daughter, Angela (Jeffrey) Donjon; his grandsons, Michael (Ashley) Ramsey, Matthew (Payton) Ramsey, and Joshua Donjon; and his great-grandchildren, Elliott Ramsey, Evelyn Ramsey, Emma Ramsey, and Ruby Ramsey. He is also survived by his sister Norma Collins, sisters-in-law, Sharon Seager and Candy Ramsey. Dean adored his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bertha (nee Leiser) Ramsey; his brother, Clyde Ramsey; and his parents-in-law, Emil and Bertha Sauget.

Dean was married to the love of his life, Bonnie Ramsey, for 62 years. He was a hardworking, self-made businessman who was well respected by all who knew him. In their free time, Dean and Bonnie enjoyed camping and boating, especially at Kentucky Lake. Dean also loved playing Kloepper with friends and later taught his grandsons how to play. Later in life, Dean and Bonnie enjoyed spending their winters in Florida.

Dean adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Big Pa.” He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
