Donald L. Gleiber


Donald L. Gleiber, 87, of Waterloo, IL, died peacefully March 14, 2018, in Waterloo, IL. He was born March 26, 1930, in East St. Louis, IL.

He is survived by his daughter Donna (John) Dinkelaker; grandsons Jared (Kristin) Dinkelaker, Jacob Dinkelaker, and Tyler Dinkelaker; great grandson Henry Dinkelaker; special friend Joanne Goeddel; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy E. Gleiber (nee Moffitt) and parents Walter A. & Goldie L. (nee Fults) Gleiber.

Donald was a member of St. Paul UCC - Waterloo where he served on the Consistory, Waterloo Rotary Club, 1st National Bank of Waterloo Board of Directors, Monroe County Rural Electric Co-op Board of Directors; member of the Kaskaskia Post Authority Regional Board, Past President and Director of Illinois Petroleum Marketers Association, former trustee of Waterloo Rural Fire Protection, member of Waterloo Municipal Band for over 25 years, Columbia Sister Cities Board of Directors, and US Army Veteran. He, along with his father-in-law, Henry Moffitt, owned and operated Moffitt Oil Company.

5 PM to 8 PM Friday, March 16, 2018 at Quernheim Funeral Home
9 AM until time of service Saturday St. Paul United Church of Christ

Funeral:
10 AM Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo, IL

To the family, my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your loved one. As you cope with your loss, may you be comforted by the "Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort.(2 Cor 1:3) One day soon, all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. (John 5:28, 29) May these promises from God's word, the Bible give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.
