Edward J.  Kane, 82, of Waterloo, Illinois, died March 1, 2016, in Waterloo, IL. He was born May 20, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA.

    He is survived by his wife Darlene Kane (nee Gierman); children Lisa Renee (Ted) Trafelet, & Edward J. (Rebecca) Kane Jr.; granddaughter Samantha; step children Diane (Daniel) Majka, Cindy (Jim) Lichtenauer, & Ed (Lynn) Williamson; & step grandchildren Emily & Ryan Williamson, Jake & John Majka, & Aimee & Joe Lichtenauer.

    He is preceded in death by his parents Edward Joseph & Eleanore Gertrude (nee Hoskins) McGrael; brother Greg Kane, & a sister.

    Ed Kane served in the US Air Force as an intercepter pilot and base adjutant. After receiving his B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from St. Louis University he was employed by McDonnel Douglas where he retired after 30 years. He worked on the Gemini project as well as many aircraft still in use today. Family and flying were his greatest joy.

    Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO
