Giles Michael Walsh

Giles Michael Walsh, 37, of Fairway, Kansas, died March 15, 2021, in Fairway, KS. He was born January 18, 1984, in Belleville, IL.
He is survived by his parents Michael and Mariella Walsh nee Gresham; sister Alisha M. (Steven) Palm; nephew Louis Michael Palm (Giles' Godson) and niece Blakely Palm. A Girl Friend. Aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Giles graduated from University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree and Kent Law School in Chicago, IL with a doctorate degree. He was a member of the Missouri and Illinois Bar Association, an Eagle Scout, Fire Crafter, Order of the Arrow, and SLUH Rifle Club.

Giles practiced law in Chicago, Saint Louis and eventually in Kansas City. He was a mentor for the Big Brother’s organization and strongly believed in community involvement with a strong commitment to give back. He offered countless hours of pro bono legal counseling to those in need.

Giles was an avid fan of live music and felt passionately that one should always live in the moment so he had a strict policy of no cell phones at live shows. He was everyone’s favorite dance partner that never failed to bring energy to any event. He was a master chef that enjoyed grilling and smoking meats. He loved to host friends and family for meals that could never be duplicated in any restaurant. He was the ultimate great outdoorsman that loved boating and camping. He was a traveler of the world exploring many countries and immersing himself in different cultures often times spending hours studying and reading before trips. He was also an accomplished marksman that even attended the qualifying round for the Junior Olympics. Giles was also known to flex his intellectual muscle during game nights with friends. He generally just loved enjoying all that life has to offer and lived every day to its fullest. He will be so dearly missed but heaven certainly gained the life of the party.

My heart is hurting for those of you who love Giles! My memories of Giles are those when he was a third grade student in my class at ICS! He was an awesome young man who challenged me to be a better teacher every day by challenging him to be the best he could be! Mr. & Mrs. Walsh, Alisha & Family - my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May your memories sustain you through the years and his spirit and love of life live in each of you.
