James J. Burns, Jr., 71, of Waterloo, IL, died June 23, 2015 in Sanibel Island, FL. He was born June 19, 1944 in St. Louis, MO.

 

He is survived by his wife Sue Burns (nee Glenn), children Tina (Ron) Stumpf, Susan (Edward) Davis, James (Dawn) Burns III, grandchildren Mallory and Blake Stumpf, Eddie (Katie) Davis, Noelle Davis, Olivia, Avery, and Evan Burns, great grandchild Finley Davis, sisters Marcella, Mary, and Joan, brothers Michael (Pat) Burns and David (Donna) Burns, sister-in-law Connie Burns, brother-in-law Noel Leroy Glenn, aunt, uncle, nieces, nephews, & cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents James J.  Sr. and Marcella Marie (nee Kempter) Burns, and brothers Larry and Christopher Burns.

 

Memorial Visitation will be at Quernheim Funeral Home from 9 AM until time of service Friday.

 

Memorial Service will be at 11 AM Friday July 3, 2015 at Quernheim Funeral Home Waterloo, IL with Rev. Sebastian Ukoh, C.M. officiating and burial will be at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery in Waterloo, IL.

 

James was retired from Harrisonville Telephone Company (after 40 years of service) and SSgt in Air Force National Guard.

He loved sitting in his chair reading the paper, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and watching the granddaughters play ball.
