Jane Marie Thien, nee Marquardt, 94, of Fults, IL, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, in Red Bud, Illinois. She was born May 27, 1932, in Waterloo, Illinois, to Anton and Dorothy, nee Harbaugh, Marquardt.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Thien, Karen (David) Sensel, Maribeth (Alan) Eschmann, Cindy (Todd) Nabers, Bill (Michelle) Thien, and Amy (Gene) Rohlfing; grandchildren Michael Whelan, Melissa Schmitz, Justin Whelan, Laura (Brad) Wilson, Julie (Ray) Henerfauth, Bethany (Blake) Wolff, Dawn (Luke) Durbin, Darin (Jessie) Sensel, Emily (Kyle) Koester, Stephanie Eschmann, Alicia Eschmann, Ashley (Chris) Malick, Erick (Megan) Thien, Abbey (Michael) Kleiboeker, Evan (Alison Yearian) Thien, August Thien, Erica (David) Bowling, Aaron (Madison) Nabers, Jared Nabers, Derek (Lauren) Hoffmann, and Claire (Tyler) Grob; 38 great-grandchildren; three expected great-grandchildren; one expected great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert A. Thien; her parents, Anton and Dorothy, nee Harbaugh, Marquardt; son-in-law Keith Hoffmann; brothers Paul Marquardt, Arthur (Arlou) Marquardt, Ralph (Shirley) Marquardt, and Harry (Elaine) Marquardt; sisters Alice (Ollie) Zaft and Ethel Bufalo; nephews Dennis Kruse and Gary Marquardt; great-nephew Brad Marquardt and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Jane enjoyed spending her time cooking and baking, she will be forever remembered by family for her homemade chicken salad and chocolate angel food cake.
