Joan Arlene Koch

Joan Arlene Koch, nee Unterseh, 81, of Waterloo, IL, died May 4, 2026, in Fenton, MO. She was born July 1, 1944, in Red Bud, IL.

She is survived by her children Ken (Julie) Washausen and Glen (Brenda) Washausen; stepchildren Mark (Kate) Koch and Angela (Chuck Bader) Koch; granchildren Ken Jr. (Chastidy) Washausen, Tyler Washausen, Michael Washausen, Brenton (Rachel) Washausen, Tyler (Sarah) Scphus and Brittany Scphus, Kaden Washausen, Spencer Washausen and Tony Braydlow; step grandchildren Sarah , Kaitlin, Alexander, Aaron, and Hannah; great grandchild Sawyer Scphus; 5 brothers Roy (Bonnie) Unterseh, Ray (Judy) Unterseh, Ronald (Patricia) Unterseh, Ricky (Susan) Unterseh, Randy Unterseh; nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her Husband Perry Koch; parents Francis and Lydia (nee Schwalbert) Unterseh; and sister Frances Josten (nee Unterseh).

Joan is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo, IL and a big St. Louis Cardinal's fan, even playing ball in and after high school. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Kloepper, and recently enjoyed playing bingo as well. Joan always loved going fishing and dancing with her late husband, Perry.
