Joel M. Schmitt, 76, of Waterloo, IL, died July 7, 2025, in St. Louis, MO. He was born February 7, 1949, in St. Louis, MO.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl A. Schmitt (nee Angleton); daughter Cady (Roy) Scott; stepson Jeff (Rachael Hattenbach) Ries; grandchildren Linley & Charlotte Russell; brothers and sisters Tom (Susie) Schmitt, Bill (Jane) Schmitt, Christine (Denny) Lutz, Judi (Roy) Hergenroeder, and Jeff (Beth) Schmitt; nieces; nephew; great nieces; great nephews; and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hubert A. & Dorothy B. (nee Wild) Schmitt; and brothers John and Fred Schmidt.
Joel loved music, reading, and spending time with his granddaughters.
