John N. Gaines, 77, of Valmeyer, IL, died January 2, 2026, in Lebanon, IL. He was born January 28, 1948, in St. Louis, MO.
He is survived by his wife Carla Brelje; sisters and brother Betty Tomlin, Mary (Lloyd) Yancy, and Charles (Julie) Gains, Jr.; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles H. and Katherine (nee Lupo) Gaines; sister Linda Stricker; brother Eugene Gaines.
John was a member of American Legion - Valmeyer, Bass Pro Club, Life Member of Bass Anglers Sportsman's Society, DAV, Vietnam Veteran.
