He is survived by his children Annette M Bartosik, Waterloo, IL, Ronald A (Rebecca) Dori, Millstadt, IL, and Louis E (Nancy) Dori, Smithton, IL; grandchildren Anthony (Paula) Dori, Palm Harbor, FL, Benjamin (Jennifer) Dori, Millstadt, IL, Nicholas Bartosik, Grand Rapids, MI and Lindsey (Christopher) Crawford, Imperial, MO; great grandchildren, Vivian Ann Dori, Margaret Elaine Dori, Anthony John Dori, Nathan Ronald Dori, Emmanuel Blake Dori, Augustine Gerard Dori and Enzo Hendrik Crawford along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lou is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Letizia (Gedda) Dori, his wife of 63 years, Charlene C (Sikora) Dori and siblings Anna Hlavek, Albena Poser, Katherine Dori, Charles Dori and Albeno Dori.
Lou was an owner operator, co-owner of Dori Excavating & Trucking Co., Dori Development & McD's Company. He was an avid golfer and a lifetime member of Tamarack Golf Club. He had been privileged to play some of the most iconic courses in the U.S. His favorite course was Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, FL, playing alongside two of his favorite family members, Rudy and Mike Hlavek. Lou enjoyed a 36-year retirement and spent many days traveling and antiquing with Charlene. As a result of the antiquing trips, Lou's Specialty Shop was created. In his shop he refinished furniture and refurbished just about anything.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the caregivers that allowed Lou to stay in his home as long as possible - Lauren, Ginny, Janet, and Diane.

Per Lou's wishes, he was cremated and there will be no public services.
