She is a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church - Hecker, IL and Hecker Community Center.
Nancy loved to crochet afghans of all shapes and sizes for family and friends, making hundreds over the years until she was no longer able to. She was a proud union member at Union Pacific Railroad despite the early starts and long drives for 36 years. While she had her own sweet tooth, she loved baking pies and treats for all of her loved ones. She enjoyed the social scene, observing and listening closely to coworkers, friends, family and new acquaintances at work, parish events, Hecker Community Center, Bingos, and various other activities where she could be out and about. Her faith life was steady throughout her life, never missing a Sunday mass and regularly reciting her Hail Mary’s up until the end. Throughout her life she prioritized her family, first with the love and respect of her parents and siblings, then with her devotion to her husband, Darrell and the family they made together. As a grandmother, there wasn’t anything she wasn’t willing to do for her grandkids, always wanting to be there for their activities and was a reluctant, but willing participant in all their goofiness. Her great granddaughter, Dorothy brought a smile of love and appreciation even in her final days.
