Nelson "Bill" W. Rex

Nelson "Bill" W. Rex, 75, of Waterloo, IL, died May 27, 2015 in St. Louis, MO. He was born October 6, 1939 in St. Louis, MO.

He is survived by his wife Doris Rex (nee Gummersheimer), brother-in-law & sister-in-law Victor & Dee Gummersheimer, cousins Richard (Virginia) Rex, Barbara (Robert) Roux, & Warren (Lettie) Goehringer, nephew Michael (Stephanie) Gummersheimer, nieces Melissa (Paul) DeHart and Melinda (Steve) Wegmann, cousin-in-law Jackie Maurer, great nieces & nephew Zachary and Kristin Gummersheimer & Tessa and Rianna DeHart .

He was preceded in death by his parents Nelson Edward & Florence M. (nee Rupp) Rex.

Visitation will be at Quernheim Funeral Home from 4 PM to 8 PM Saturday May 30, 2015 and at St. Paul United Church of Christ – Columbia, IL from 1 PM until the time of service on Sunday.

Funeral will be at 2 PM Sunday May 31, 2015 at St. Paul United Church of Christ -Columbia, IL with Pastor Bob Goddard officiating and burial will be at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo, IL.

Bill helped his parents at the grocery store in Webster Groves, he was a cub scout, keen knowledge of horticulture led to being a florist (Rex Florist in Waterloo, IL - started in mid 70's and moved to Waterloo from 1979-2001) for over 20 years. Due to the fact that he was a history lover and story teller he was the author of 5 books.
