Novella C. Shreve

Passed peacefully on Wed., Jan. 25, 2017 at 91 years young. She has been reunited with those that have preceded her, beloved husband of 59 years Harry, parents Raymond and Clyde Edwards, sister Corene (Roy) Himmer and brother Bill (Freda) Edwards. Left to carry on her legacy are her children Kenny Shreve (Barb Green) of Millstadt, IL., Debby (Terry) Hutton of Oakville, MO.; Becky (Bill) Avett of Waterloo, IL.; grandchildren Ryan and Justin Shreve, Melissa Shreve (Seth Winkelmann), Kristine (Christopher) Holloway, Kyle (Elena) Hutton; Mandy (Jeremy) Loyet and Danielle (Bradley) Bogue; cherished great-grandchildren Brodix, Kindall and Aubri; Savvy and her sister; Annabelle; and Thomas.  She was an aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt and treasured friend.

Mom was a gifted seamstress. Her creations went from clothes for her daughters to Barbie Doll/Cabbage Patch outfits to wedding dresses and everything in-between. Her creative vision was most evident in putting scraps of material together to make beautiful quilts.  Not only did she make her own designs, all were hand quilted including points “cause it’s not a quilt if it doesn’t have points”.  Mom was a 60+ year member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Centerville, IL. as well as an original member of their Quilters club. She continued to be active in the quilting group at Ss.Peter & Paul, Waterloo. The Linus Club received over 150 handmade quilts to be given to children at local hospitals. Also known for her famous banana pudding, she will be greatly missed for her baked goods and infectious smile.
