He is survived by his wife Catherine D. Hawkins (nee Bigley); daughters Deborah (Craig) Barttelbort; Sharon (Robert) Harbaugh; Leighann Hawkins; & Emily (Jeremy) Kirk; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister June Eveland; son-in-law Raymond Bense; nieces; nephews; & cousins.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Bense; parents Oscar & Alna (nee Schoonover) Hawkins; brothers Carl & Paul Hawkins.
Ray was a member of First Baptist Church - Waterloo, a retired boat captain, & a US Navy Veteran.
