Ray W. Hawkins


Ray W. Hawkins, 84, of Columbia, IL, died July 10, 2019, in Columbia, IL. He was born December 16, 1934, in St. Clair, MO.


He is survived by his wife Catherine D. Hawkins (nee Bigley); daughters Deborah (Craig) Barttelbort; Sharon (Robert) Harbaugh; Leighann Hawkins; & Emily (Jeremy) Kirk; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister June Eveland; son-in-law Raymond Bense; nieces; nephews; & cousins.


He is preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Bense; parents Oscar & Alna (nee Schoonover) Hawkins; brothers Carl & Paul Hawkins.


Ray was a member of First Baptist Church - Waterloo, a retired boat captain, & a US Navy Veteran.


As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to:

9 AM until time of service Monday at First Baptist Church

10 AM Monday, July 15, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Waterloo, IL

Interment at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery in Columbia, IL
