He is survived by his wife Cynthia Kemper nee Hoefft; sister Angie Gotto, Rhonda (David) Matchett, Lucy (Chris) Saelinger, Becky (Tim) Gregory, and Sherri (Jeff) West; brother Danny (Debbie) Kempfer; step daughter Erin Donjon; grandchildren Braylee and Josh; mother-in-law and father-in-law Pam and Bill Coplin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Stephen Hoefft Jr., Daniel (Barbara) Hoefft, and Alicia (Paul) Hyland; step sons Christopher Mueller and James (Becky) Mueller; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents Carl Joseph and Delores Marie (nee Davis) Kempfer; brother Randy Kempfer; nephew James Hoefft and niece Mikayla Hoefft.
