I have worked with Ruth's granddaughter Sarah for a number of years. She spoke of her Grandmother often. I know that Sarah and her siblings loved their Grandmother deeply. Grandmothers are an incredible influence on their grandchildren. It is apparent that Ruth was a wonderful example . Sarah I know you will miss her deeply. Keep the love that you received from her in your heart. The memories will be your comfort. You will be in my prayers.

I am sorry to hear of your loved ones passing. I believe she was my second cousin. I am Bertha (Haltenhof) Nottmeiers youngest daughter, and I think Ruths mother, Hilda, and my mother were cousins. My grandfather was Henry Haltenhof and I think he was a brother to Hildas mother, possibly her name was Lena. I remember visiting the Gosss at Floaville as a child. I live in Spokane, WA but I get back to Waterloo every couple of years and sometimes get together with Haltenhof relatives, as I love keeping up with family history. I plan on being back this fall for my class reunion. Prayers go out to all of you at this difficult time. Sharon (Nottmeier) Arnold.
