I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was always so classy and such a nice lady. Cherish all of the wonderful memories with her so you can pass them on to Lola. Much love to you and your family.

I want Shirley's family to know that she was such a loving person. Your Mom was especially good to me after my accident in 1980. She sent me many cards and letters that contained her hand written notes, so inspiring and positive. She made a point of visiting me many times a few years ago when I was a patient at Oakhill. I admit I was sometimes a little surprised by her affection for me but I shouldn't have been knowing that she never hid her feelings behind fake sentiment.

Her smile was a powerful thing too. I can still feel her holding my hands and strong hugs and when I looked back at her shed be smilling. I loved her honesty, that she always told it like it was, and she didn't make excuses for that. She was one of a kind.

With sadness for her passing but happiness for having known her, she will truly be missed.
