Thomas C. Matthes, 71, of Valmeyer, IL, died February 3, 2026, in Valmeyer, IL. He was born November 13, 1954, in Lemay, MO.
He is survived by his wife Roberta (nee Mesmore) Matthes; children Michael (Rebecca) Matthes, Lauren (James) Mezo, and Baylee Matthes (Morgan Cavalier); grandchildren Jacob Matthes, Mia Mezo, Raelynn Mezo, Sofia Mezo, and Elaina Cavalier; brothers and sisters Kam, Michael, Connie, Billy, Julie, and Angela; nieces, nephews; cousins; and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents William (Sue) Matthes and Kathy (Barry) Weismantle.
Thomas was a member of the Knights of Columbus and he was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran.
